Helping clients connect the dots

Fabian Youwe

We spoke with Fabian Seger, one of the Business Development Consultants here at Youwe. In his day-to-day work he connects the dots for new and existing Youwe clients. How can they achieve their goals? What do they need to be successful? Read on for his story about our client Chadwicks, an Irish merchant for builders, plumbers and construction professionals.

Chadwicks needed a mature partner who could help them develop their PIM/MDM solution. We discussed the requirements and roadmap if Youwe were to become their partner. As there was some fierce competition our project approach needed to be clearly explained and documented. Eventually Chadwicks Group made the choice that Youwe was they partner they wanted to work with for a longer period.

The perfect fit
To make sure we understand how we could serve Chadwicks best, we had in depth interviews around their needs in their digital landscape. We are a digital agency and we support our clients in a wide variety of challenges in an omnichannel approach. Fabian: "It is important to see where we stand out in comparison to our competitors and to find the best fit for our prospects."

One of the challenges that arose was around hosting: Chadwicks wanted to host their data in compliance with their strong security and perfomance standards. Fabian's role was to facilitate the collaboration between the project manager and technical consultant at Chadwicks side, and the lead hosting consultant, delivery manager and technical consultant at Youwe to make sure the hosting lived up to Chadwicks' high standards.

Building trust
As a Business Development Consultant, you need to be able to coordinate with your colleagues to work as one team. Fabian: "In the process, I got to build trust with our clients. Especially if they don't know Youwe yet, conveying our value is key. In the end they need to trust that you will deliver on our promise, and I'm glad I got to do that."
